Gratitude Day 3.

I love music.

Country, R&B, Pop, Rock, Classical, you name it.

Music moves me.

I can picture my life as a slide show and I know each song that would perfectly represent each time period.

I also LOVE to dance.

There is something about dancing that is joyous and liberating.

I'm pretty sure my husband fell in love with me during a performance of CopaCabana at a local karaoke bar {and trust me, it wasn't the singing}.

You should see the boy and me rock out to John Cougar Mellancamp's "Hurt So Good" or Lady GaGa's "Just Dance." I hope those jam sessions in the car are something he always remembers.

I am so grateful for the music the stirs my soul and the rhythm that moves my body.

Listening to music moves me...but I wish I had the voice and skills and balls to do any of that in public! Hope you have a rockin Mother's day and get your dance on!

Oh this is a great thing to be grateful for. I love music - I've been playing the piano since I was 4, and it is still how I turn off, unwind, and relax after work. I love listening to music, screaming along to 60s oldies in the car, listening to irish punk rock in the background as I pay the bills, or some 90s pop as I study... for every mood there is music.

What's really amazing though is that the Genesis song 'No Son of Mine' from the 80s (or 90s?), Lovin Spoonful recording of 'Summer in the City', etc. all sound exactly the same as the moment that they take you back to, whenever it was, wherever it was.

Music is freeing, transforming, and transporting.

I'm trying to imagine you in the karaoke bar...haha! I've done it once - and sang "Any Man of Mine" by Shania Twain. I'm sure I enjoyed it more than the audience did. :)

Love these grateful posts! Great idea!

You write so well, really brings the emotion through. Music is a powerful thing and so is a momma who rocks out with her boy.

I remember my parents dancing in the kitchen to the Swingin' Medallions and the Beach Boys - great times.

Hubs and I are now trying to give our boys the same great memories with the Oldies of Bon Jovi and Run DMC. Depressing really.

You're a great mama. He will remember.

I'm so behind on blog reading this week, but I'm getting caught up now on your gratitude series!

Just today we changed the entire mood of our house (the pre-dinner crankies) by cranking up the music and dancing like the coordination-challenged maniacs we are!
