Gratitude Day 8.

So, apparently, 30 continuous days of gratitude just wasn't doable....

But, I'm getting right back on the blog and continuing.

Today, my son and I walked by the most gorgeous bougainvillea.

It grows so well in our desertish climate here in Temecula.

I had to just stop and stare.

I love how hearty, strong and vibrant it is.

Fierce, but delicate vines just embrace whatever it's growing up or down or around.

Reminds me of the kind of women I want to be.

What a wonderful comparison. Vibrant-strong-hearty... sounds like a person I could call my friend.

That is a lovely comparison - blooming where you're planted indeed, I'd say.

Oh wow, well said. Such a beautiful and determined flower, or is it a vine? Anyway, well put. I like the gratitude idea.

Lots of yummy love,

Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate these posts. Sometimes when I get down in the dumps I know I have to pull myself up and focus on the little things that make life great. These flowers are a perfect example of how to see the best in life.

hi! Just following over from your excellent Saturday post on SITS. Great suggestions! I love your blog and cannot believe you live in Temecula! We live in Austin, TX but spent a year in orange county and are trying desperately to move back to the SD area....Temecula is one of the places we're targeting!

you know what I first thought of when you talked about the beauty of the bougainvillea -?? the wicked thorns ... there's something to your woman/analogy in that too! :D So Ca is perfect for bougainvillea - we are swimming in it right now!

I love bougainvillea. Thinking about putting it in some planters on the balcony of my house. But it's in North Florida, and I wonder if it stays warm enough through the winter for it. Anyway, it's gorgeous.
