Aren't those the moments we live for?? My oldest son used to come hug and kiss me *as soon* as he woke up every morning and say "Good morning Mommy, I love you". He started when we was just a toddler and did it faithfully every day. Until he was about 12 and it became very rare. He just turned 14 and has started it back up and it just makes my day :) Have a Happy New Year!!

So precious. Made me all teary-eyed. Then, as I read everyone's comments it became a full on cry. My first child passed away at birth, and would have been 14 last Saturday. I try to remember to cherish every moment I'm blessed to "get" my other children. Thank you for sharing your joy with us. It makes me happy!

That is so sweet. I think I'm that kind of Mom too. My older son is a Tim Burton wanna be and he is always adding skulls or skeletons or zombie-whatever to his room. His Dad thinks he is crazy, but I think he is unique and priceless and just a little bit fabulous!

this is so awesome! I look forward to those moments. I feel like I've had a few big moments [by that I mean the ones that even death won't rip away! ;)]a few weeks ago my son told me for the first time that he was happy. He doesn't really understand emotions- or at least how to talk about them. It took me a good minute to figure out that was what he was saying!

i hope you get many more moments with your boy! And hopefully his eye rolling won't get more intense each year! ;)

This is the sweetest thing I've heard in a long time. I have a 9 year old son and it's hard watching him want to separate from me and become his own person. It is hard not getting all the cuddle time and hand holding I used to get. Sigh. Darn kids, have to go and grow up on us.
